Beyond Techniques

Introduction

Most of the so-called self-defense "techniques" being taught these days are too complicated and require a lot of memorization.  I believe self-defense has  to be simple, direct and efficient.  Lacking any one of these ingredients, self-defense would not be successful.  Let's face it,  in a self-defense situation, most of us would be defending against someone bigger and stronger than us.  Strength contest with this larger assailant would be foolish.  That is why we need to utilize simple, direct and efficient movements to successfully defending ourselves. 

The first step in self-defense is to get to know your body, I mean really get to know your body.  The way you move your arms, your legs and your entire body. Once you understand how the human body works, you will be able to create "leverage" against a much larger opponent.
